Self-contained systems are, by definition, non-remote. The product is inside the dispenser. Self-contained systems fall into several broad categories.

Countertop Juice Dispensers
Machines where the product is placed inside the dispenser, normally in disposable cartridges.

Bubbler Countertop Juice Dispensers
These units continuously circulate pre-mixed, viewable product that is poured directly into the top of the dispenser; depending on the venue, the visual element may enhance the merchandising.

Freezers
Like the name implies, these machines freeze the product (in most cases to a slushy consistency); examples are soft-serve units, frosted cocktail machines, frozen lemonade machines and smoothie units.

Hand Mixed
Hand mixed: this is the simplest "system" used for mixing product and the one best suited for the home. Just mix the product with cold water and enjoy! With this system you have none of the mess of frozen juice concentrates and you can make as much or as little as you like: quarts, gallons or single servings.

Granita
A type of freezer unit, typically smaller than a standard freezer, with a view of the product; depending on the venue, the visibility of the product may enhance the merchandising.

Frozen Carbonated Beverage
(FCB) Machines
These units carbonate and freeze beverages to a slushy form; a good example is a Slurpee FCB machine.

Fast Flow/Large Volume Systems
Designed to move pre-mixed product at a high rate.

Blenders
Similar to household models, blenders for commercial applications are designed for heavy duty use; blenders are preferred in low volume situations or in venues where "made from scratch" is important to the perception of the product.

Tea Urns
Used to brew, store and dispense iced tea.
