Damon Industries is dedicated to the highest level of product quality and safety. We adhere to the following self-imposed standards.

Raw Materials
Concentrates, sweeteners, flavoring extracts and water are the primary building blocks of all our products, and that is where the Quality Assurance process starts. Although there are common traits in each ingredient, each of them has its own unique set of characteristics. As we receive our raw materials from various suppliers, we check each item for the required specifications, including:
  • Concentrates, pasteurized by the manufacturer, are checked first for flavor, sweetness, acidity, and color, and then each is checked for its unique potential defect. Concentrates that fail our rigorous standards on any level are returned to the manufacturer.
  • Sweeteners are checked for clarity, sugar content and flavor.
  • Water is filtered and monitored for clarity and taste.

Sanitation
The quality and safety of food products is of great concern to us and to the food industry as a whole. Damon Industries operates under the Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) program. The use of HACCP identifies biological, chemical and physical hazards and develops preventive measures to prevent these problems from occurring. Because of this, we have developed an extensive equipment sanitation and review program. The program consists of daily, weekly and monthly procedures. The efficacy of our sanitation methods has been verified by independent audit.

Manufacturing
Every batch is checked for flavor, brix (sweetness), color, thickness, pulp or seeds, and acidity and the principles of HACCP are utilized to assure sanitation.
The fill quantity of each bag-in-box is measured and controlled by weight. Bottles are measured against a standard unit, and all fall within limits set by the U.S. Department of Commerce/ National Bureau of Standards.
In compliance with Food and Drug Administration requirements, control samples of each batch are maintained for at least four months after manufacture and are available for examination if questions arise about a batch of product. In addition, each batch of product is traceable to the recipients through a seven-digit batch control number, which is stamped on each box of product. Batch production sheets with batch and ingredient lot numbers are kept indefinitely.
